The Simpkins Lee Theatre has been described as a 'little gem'. Built in 2010 with the style and detailing of an earlier era, it has a sweeping, decorative ceiling of carved wood, in keeping with the neo-classical appearance of the surrounding Pipe Partridge building. The Theatre has a fully equipped tech booth, including a Tricaster video-editing suite for live-streaming. Multiple remote-control cameras and high quality audio system mean that the Theatre can be used as a characterful venue for hybrid conferences.
The elegant design of our 150 seat, raked lecture theatre offers a distinctive backdrop for seminars and conferences. Painted wrought ironwork gives the theatre a timeless quality, while a built in projection room, integral AV and streaming system provide 21st century conference services. Adjoining the theatre is a cloakroom and foyer area, which is ideal for registrations, and which links with the Monson Room, an attractive and sizeable function room. Also nearby are a number of breakout rooms. The Theatre is located within the Pipe Partridge building, which houses 64 modern en suite bedrooms available for residential conferences during University vacations.
